Authentic dal, paneer, tandoori, biryani, and Jain food across 9 Vietnam cities — addresses, prices, and what to order.
Vietnam has changed for Indian travelers in the last decade. Where once finding home-style Indian food meant difficult research and frequent disappointments, today most major Vietnamese cities have multiple authentic Indian restaurants — many run by Indian chefs, serving full vegetarian menus, accommodating Jain dietary requirements, and offering halal-certified meals. Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi have the deepest selections (15+ and 12+ restaurants respectively), while smaller tourist cities like Hoi An, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, and Nha Trang have at least 2–5 dedicated Indian restaurants each. This guide covers nine Vietnamese cities where you can reliably find Indian food, with verified addresses, current operating hours, price ranges in INR, dietary information (vegetarian, vegan, Jain, halal), and what to order at each place. We update this list quarterly based on traveler feedback from our Vietnam tour clients.

Yes — Vietnam has 50+ Indian restaurants across major cities. Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi have the deepest selections; tourist cities like Hoi An, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, and Nha Trang each have multiple options. Smaller towns and rural destinations (Ninh Binh, Mai Chau, Phong Nha) don't have Indian restaurants — plan around city stops.
Yes. Both Vietnamese Buddhist vegetarian (chay) restaurants and dedicated Indian vegetarian restaurants are widely available in major cities. Strict Jain travelers should plan ahead — only a few restaurants offer dedicated Jain preparation (Ram Krishna in Hanoi, Tanishq in Ho Chi Minh City). Always call ahead with 4–6 hours' notice.
Reasonable. A standard Indian meal costs ₹400–₹800 per person at mid-range restaurants, ₹1,200–₹2,500 at fine-dining. Significantly cheaper than Indian restaurants in Western countries, and slightly more expensive than authentic Vietnamese street food. Most Indian restaurants accept Indian credit cards (Visa, Mastercard).
